Regional Security Dialogue kicks off in Tehran

Tehran (ISNA) – The first meeting of national security secretaries and advisers of regional countries kicked off on Wednesday in Tehran.

National security secretaries and advisers of Iran, China, Afghanistan, India and Russia are participating in the meeting, which has been dubbed “Regional Security Dialogue”.

During the meeting that is being hosted by Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani, the ways to fight terrorism, extremism and new threats by them in West Asia will be discussed.

Ali Shamkhani will hold a press conference late Wednesday.

He will also hold bilateral meetings with National Security Adviser of Afghanistan, Hamdullah Mohib and Director of the Russian Federal Security Service, Nikolai Patrushev on Thursday.
