Iran, UK begin new round of talks in Tehran

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that new round of bilateral talks between Iran and UK has been begun in Tehran on Saturday September 1.

The fresh talks are launched today with the visit of British Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, Alistair Burt, to Tehran.

Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, “The talks will focus on bilateral economic cooperation following US’ unilateral withdrawal from 2015 nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as well as financial and monetary mechanisms between the two countries despite US unilateral sanctions”.

The two sides will also exchange views on the latest developments in the region.

The Iranian side is headed by deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Abbas Araghchi.
