Iran foils 2 terrorist attacks in Kurdistan, Khuzestan provinces

Tehran (ISNA) – The Ministry of Intelligence of Iran announced that security forces managed to foil two terrorist attacks in west and southern of the country.

Iranian Intelligence Ministry said in a statement, “Security forces in western province of Kurdistan and southern province of Khuzestan identified and defused two terrorist plots”.

According to the statement, in Kurdistan case, one of the terrorists had launched a grenade attack on a police station in Saqqez city which was foiled by the police force and no one sustained any injuries.

“During the operations, six members of the Takfiri and separatist groups were arrested and 7 AK-47 rifles, 3 Uzi submachine guns, 17 pistols, 8 grenades, vision goggles and a sizeable amount of ammunition were seized from the terrorist groups,” the statement added.

It noted that the terrorist groups were preparing to perform several operations in Iran’s central cities.

Another plan to transport a big haul of explosives to conduct consecutive blasts in Iran was also foiled in this operation.
