EU, Iranian ambassadors to Russia confer on JCPOA

Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanayee met with EU Ambassador to Russia Markus Ederer, discussing 2015 nuclear deal, recent developments in Syria and Afghanistan.

During the meeting held in Iranian embassy, Mehdi Sanayee stressed on the need for providing Iran’s interests based on the nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and Markus Ederer emphasized on EU’s support for preserving JCPOA and its efforts to provide Iran’s interests based on the agreement.

Markus Ederer has also insisted that trilateral cooperation between Iran, EU and Russia is of great importance in implementing JCPOA.

Mentioning to the latest situation in Syria, Iranian ambassador evaluated the situation positive and insisted that the condition is moving toward improvement.

Markus Ederer has also praised Iran for accepting 3 million Afghan asylum-seekers.
