Iran wushu team claims title of world championship

Tehran (ISNA) – Iran`s wushu team in the last night of 2018 World Junior Wushu Championships in Berazil won 11 gold medals and became the world champion.

The 7th section of international World Junior Wushu Championships started on Thursday (July 12) with the participation of the 400 wushu practitioners from 45 countries in Brasilia, Brazil and wrapped up today.  

Iran`s national wushu team won 11 gold medals, 8 silver ones and 7 bronze medals for the first time in two sections at Sanshou and Taolu.

In the last day of the competition, 9 Iranian sanshou male and female practitioners from various weights won gold medals. They also won 26 various medals in the sections of sanshou and taolu.

It is the first time that a team other than Chinese team won the world champion in the sections of sanshou and taolu.

Hong Kong`s team became the second by winning 10 gold medals, 4 silvers and 8 bronzes and US` team became third by winning 8 gold medals, 4 silvers and 3 bronzes. Malaysian and Chinese teams ranked 4th and 5th respectively.
