Tehran (ISNA) – After the summit with foreign ministers of P4+1 and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammad Javad Zarif said, “All the participants remaining in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) insisted on securing legitimate interests of JCPOA for Iran”.

“It was the first summit of JCPOA’s Joint commission at the level of foreign ministers following US’s withdrawal from the nuclear deal,” Zarif told reporters.

“The joint statement, which was read by Ms. Mogherini is issued by all participants of the summit. All the members remained in JCPOA explained their commitments to different parts, such as oil sales, financial relations, transportation and investment,” he added.

“In Iran, we received a package that President Hassan Rouhani described it as inadequate. Today we heard more explanations about oil and banking issues from the counterparts,” Iran’s top diplomat also said, “Now, we must enter the executive phase and the commitments should be implemented to see if there is any benefit for Iran”.

Noting that a timeframe has been considered for the issue, Zarif said, “The timeframe is complied with US’ sanctions. According to what’s been announced, the blocking laws of Europe need to be implemented before the implementation of US’ sanctions”.

“Given the possibility of US’ violation of its commitments, JCPOA allows us to take actions if it was necessary,” he added, insisting that Iran was always committed to its promises.
