Qatar appoints its new ambassador to Iran

ایران و قطر

Tehran (ISNA) – In a decree, Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani appointed Mohammed Saad Al Fuhaid Al Hajri as the country’s ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The newly-appointed Qatari ambassador to Tehran will replace Ali bin Hamad Al Sulaiti who will be serving as Qatar's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Peru.

The newly-appointed Qatari ambassador to Iran has previously served as Qatar's ambassador to Yemen, Libya, and Greece.

When the Saudi embassy in Tehran was stormed after the assassination of a senior Shia cleric by Saudi regime in 2015, Qatar and some other Arab countries recalled their ambassadors from Tehran in a sign of support for the Riyadh government.
