Iranian security forces arrest 27 terrorists in Tehran, some other cities

Tehran (ISNA) – Iran’s Intelligence Ministry announced that the country’s security forces have identified and arrested 27 members of a terrorist group who were planning to carry out terror attacks during the holy month of Ramadan (May 17- June 14) and on international Quds Day (June 8).

In a statement Iran’s Intelligence Ministry said that the terrorists were planning to carry out terror attacks in the capital, Tehran, and other major cities of the country. They had published pictures on the Internet and threatened Iranian people with murder and revenge but they were all arrested after a series of police and intelligence operations.

The intelligence forces have also confiscated a large amount of weapons and ammunition including Kalashnikov rifles, grenades, bombs, Colt firearms and explosive materials from the terrorists in the operations.
