Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Oil Minister has given a 60-day deadline to the French oil company Total to hold a negotiation with the United States on the company’s cooperation with Tehran.

“Total has 60 days to talk to the US administration. During the period, French government also can negotiate with the Washington about the continuation of Total’s activity in the giant Iranian South Pars gas project,” Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said.

Noting that Total will stay in Iran if the US government agrees and make an exception for the French company, Zanganeh added, “But if US doesn’t agree, China’s state-owned energy major CNPC will replace Total in the South Pars 11 project”.
