Moscow does not accept any change to JCPOA: Ryabkov

Tehran (ISNA) – Russian deputy Foreign Minister stressing that Moscow’s policy is still to support and preserve Iran’s nuclear deal and doesn’t accept any change to it.

Russian deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov made the remarks during a meeting with Iranian ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanai.

During the meeting, different issues of bilateral cooperation in international arenas as well as the nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) were discussed.

Mr. Ryabkov said, “Russia’s policy is still to support and preserve the JCPOA and doesn’t accept any change to it”.

“It is expected that Europe also complies with its commitment toward the JCPOA and it is logical to attempt to protect it and not surrender to the demands of the United States,” he added.

Mr. Ryabkov has also stressed on continuation of bilateral cooperation especially in the field of peaceful nuclear cooperation, preserving the JCPOA and establishing stability and security to the region.

Both sides have also emphasized that regional issues and Syrian crisis should be solved through negotiations.
