Iran confiscates large cargo of explosive devices in eastern borders


Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced that the security forces managed to seize a large cargo of explosive devices in the country’s eastern border areas.

Iranian Intelligence Ministry said in a statement that security forces in the eastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan have discovered and capture the consignment which was embedded in a large narcotics cargo.

Following a round-the-clock operation, the forces thwarted terrorist groups’ plots to transfer 80 kilograms of explosive devices, 17 booby traps (used in roadside bombs and explosive traps), 28 pistols with 2100 bullets, 35 grenades, dozens of electronic detonators and other explosive equipment.

During the operation, 580 kilogram of narcotics were also confiscated from terrorists.
