اولین نشست خبری سخنگوی وزارت امورخارجه در سال ۱۳۹۷

Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman emphasized that Tehran took on time stands on the recent attacks by Zionist Regime on Syria.

In a press conference held on Monday, Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi told reporters, “I think Iran showed on time necessary reactions to Israeli attack on Syria”.

“In fact, all that is to be said is the right of Syrian government and its people to make necessary decisions about Zionist Regime’s invasion and show reactions to it,” he clarified.

"Gone are the days when the Zionist regime would hit and run and the resistance forces in the region are able to respond to this crime at an appropriate time," he said.

"The occupying regime will sooner or later receive the necessary responses to its recent crime and aggression, and they will regret their misdeed," Qassemi added.

About the results of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif’s recent visits to Africa and Latin America, he stated, “I am not in a position to comment about the visits but I can say that they were useful and are considered as steps forward for Iran with developing countries and Latin America”.

“Totally, the recent visit was a successful one because more than 40 companies accompanied Iranian foreign minister and according to previous memorandum of understandings, some documents were signed with Brazil and given Brazil position, I think we will have clear capacities to develop bilateral cooperation,” he remarked.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Mr. Qassemi pointed to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and said, “It is totally clear that JCPOA is a deal between Iran and the P5+1. The other stories raised in this regard are more media speculations and we have no formal information about the meetings and talks have been held”.

“About US decision on JCPOA, we must be patient and I think US officials have not yet made decisive decision about the issue. Meanwhile, we must pay attention to Trump`s character because he has showed that takes different decisions in crises”.

About the latest talks between Iran and EU over JCPOA and European countries` positions toward the nuclear deal given the US pressure, he said, “Communications, phone talks, negotiations and consultations between Iran and EU countries about JCPOA are going on and the talks will continue. The deal is an important issue for Iran and EU. EU officials continuously in interviews and talks with Iranian officials talk about the deal and they believe that the deal must stay valid without any changes and continue. They are not consensus with Trump policies.US puts massive pressures on EU to changes its positions but EU knows Iranian position, role and capacity in regard to stability and security in the region and until now resist on its position toward the JCPOA”.
