Amano once again affirms Iran compliance with JCPOA

Tehran (ISNA) - International Atomic Energy Agency chief Yukiya Amano on Monday once again affirmed Iran compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal and said inspectors had had access to all the sites and locations which they needed to visit.

In a speech opening a meeting of the IAEA's board of governors, Amano said, “The deal represents a significant gain for verification and that if it were to fail, it would be a great loss for nuclear verification and for multilateralism”.

“Iran is, as of today, implementing its nuclear-related commitments under the deal,” he added.

Any collapse of the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and major powers would be a “great loss”, the head of the U.N. atomic agency policing the accord said, alluding to a U.S. threat to pull out of it.

“The agency has requested Iran to provide further clarifications regarding its plans relevant to the development of the nuclear fuel cycle related to naval nuclear propulsion,” Amano told the closed-door meeting of 35 member states.

“Amano said inspectors had had "access to all the sites and locations which we needed to visit," he went on to say.
