Second Tehran Security Conference held on Monday

Tehran (ISNA) – The Second Tehran Security Conference was held on Monday with the motto of “'Regional Security in West Asia; Emerging Challenges and Trends”.

High-ranking Iranian and foreign officials from 49 Asian and European countries are attending the Second Tehran Security Conference and Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will deliver a speech at the inaugural ceremony of the conference.

Iranian interior minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, defense minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami, former foreign minister Kamal Kharazi, cultural advisor to President Hesamodin Ashna, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, former defense minister General Hossein Dehghan, Omani foreign minister Youssef bin Alawi, former British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, Iranian deputy foreign minister Abbas Araghchi, former Italian Prime Minister, deputy foreign minister of Tajikistan, advisor to Lebanese President, the Speaker of Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq and other officials are scheduled to deliver speeches at the conference.

The participants will discuss a variety of issues such as the role of Iran as well as regional and extra-regional countries in West Asia security as well as the importance of economic development and defense cooperation in promoting the regional security.
