Iran reopens Parviz Khan, Tamarchin borders with Iraqi Kurdistan

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian consulate in Erbil announced that Parviz Khan and Tamarchin borders with Iraqi Kurdistan have been reopened on Tuesday.

“Following the consultations with Iraqi government, the Parviz Khan and Tamarchin borders with Iraqi Kurdistan, which were closed after the September 25 independence referendum in the region, have been reopened on Tuesday,” Iranian consulate in Erbil said in a statement.

“Trade, export, import and movement of travelers and traders from these borders were also resumed,” it added.

The official border of Parviz Khan had been temporarily closed since 15 October and no trade exchanges, export, import and travelling of passengers were being carried out through the border.

The border terminal had been shut at the request of Iraq’s central government.
