JCPOA is unchangeable: Macron

Tehran (ISNA) – French President Emmanuel Macron stressed that the nuclear deal has been the basis of France cooperation with Iran and it was unchangeable.

The new ambassador of Iran to Paris Abolghassem Delfi met with French president and submitted his credentials.

During the meeting at Elysee Palace, Delfi mentioned to the long-standing relationships between Iran and France and the positive developments in the bilateral ties including developing political, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation after the implementation of the Joint Commission of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Explaining Iran’s position regarding the developments in the region, he said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has always stressed on the solving the regional issues through dialogue and opposes any kind of foreign intervention”.

“The consultation between Iran and France over the regional issues has positive effects on the stability in the region,” the Iranian ambassador added.

French President, for his part, said “Paris is looking for dialogue and constructive relations with Iran”.

Referring to the France’s policies toward the continuation of JCPOA, Macron said, “JCPOA has been the basis of France cooperation with Iran and it IS unchangeable”.

“France is willing to talk with Iran about regional issues and it is pleased with the good relations between the two countries’ ministries,” he added.
