Tehran (ISNA) – The special assistant to the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) announced that the Iranian experts had acquired the technology to build atomic batteries.

"Iran has joined the club of countries that produces nuclear battery by attaining this technology," AEOI’s special assistant Ali-Asqar Zarean said.

“Following the signing of the nuclear agreement known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), some obstacles have been removed in the scientific field in Iran and the country has been able to develop its scientific cooperation with certain countries,” he added.

"The United States, the United Kingdom, France and Russia are the countries that enjoy the technology of building nuclear batteries, but fortunately, after four years of efforts day and night, today Iran is placed among these countries,” Zarean continued.

“With the production of nuclear batteries, the battery life of cell phone, heart pacemaker, medical facilities and equipment and the oil and drilling industry which always needs to be charged, lasts for more than 5 to 50 years without charging,” he went on to say.
