Iran says formation of coalition government is a success for Lebanese nation

Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian Supreme Leader's top adviser for international affairs Ali Akbar Velayati emphasized that the victories of the Lebanese government promised the destruction of all terrorists, extremists and Takfiri movements in the region.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri in Beirut.

Welcoming the recent victories of the Lebanaese government and nation, Velayati stressed on imminent defeat of all terrorists, extremists and Takfiri movements in the region.

“The victory of the resistance axis is a victory for all of us and we praise the victories that have been made in Lebanon against the terrorist groups recently” Velayati said.

“Iran supports the stability of Lebanon as well as its government and welcomes the independence of the country. The Lebanese people are a great nation in the region. We always wish success for Lebanon and undoubtedly the formation of a coalition government is a success for the Lebanese people” he added.

Stressing that the victories of the Lebanon against terrorism are the a victory of all the region, Velayati said, “The terrorists, extremists and the Takfiri movements in the region are supported by the Zionists and some regional countries that do not want to see the regional countries’ stability, security, independence and unity”.

“Relations between Lebanon and Iran are good and Tehran supports the stability of Lebanon,” the Iranian official went on to say.

The Lebanese PM Hariri, for his part, offered a warm welcome to the adviser to Leader of the Islamic Revolution, saying, “We are faced with serious challenges from the terrorists, extremists and the Takfiri currents in the region and must do our best to stand against them to achieve victory”.

“Despite some differences, stability and security has been provided in Lebanon and all the groups are collaborating to promote the stability and security,” he added.
