Iranian iron ore exports Jump 54 pct

Tehran (ISNA) – Iran’s iron ore exports have increased more than 54 percent in the first half of the Iranian year (from March 21 to September 22, 2017) compared to the same date last year.

The latest customs statistics show that 8.690 million tons of iron ore were exported in the period.

The value of this export volume is more than $491 million which shows an increase of 14.8 percent in weight and 2.23 percent in the total value of the export.


Azerbaijan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Slovenia, Afghanistan, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Turkmenistan, Turkey, China, Iraq and India were the customers of Iranian iron ore during the period.

But it should be noted that China with more than $476 million was the main client for Iran’s iron ore.
