Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called on all Iranians, including those living outside the country to join hands to build a more prosperous, glorious Iran in the international stage.

President Rouhani addressed Iranians residing in the United States late on Sunday local time and said: "We need all Iranians everywhere in the world to build our Islamic Iran and all Iranians who love their country must have a role in the future of Iran".

"Just like the time Iranians residing overseas took part in the 19 May elections, they should engage in interaction with universities, scientific and technological parks and economic sectors, as well as trade and investment," he added.

“Iranians residing outside the country can contribute to Iran’s glory in cultural, scientific and technological interaction,” said Rouhani adding, "What we want from you dear Iranians is to increase your share in Iran’s progress more than before".

"Iranians residing overseas are cultural, economic and political ambassadors of the Iranian nation and as you supported the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), you can contribute to safeguard Iran’s interests and the people’s rights," he added.

"Today in the 12th Administrations term of office, we are in better conditions. Our fresh administration will take better, bigger steps in all fields with your support," the President continued.

"Iran will be on the path to progress and perfection. For our country’s progress, the share of Iranians residing outside the country has always been a valuable one and figures show that in the past year, more than 500 educated Iranians have returned to Iran," Mr. Rouhani went on to say.

"In the field of foreign policy, with valuable work of my dear brother Dr Mohammad Javad Zarif, and Mr. Araqchi and Takhteravanchi, and others, succeeded in proving the world that Iranians have been pioneers of culture, science and defense, they can defend the rights of the Iranian nation in today’s world language," he noted.

“The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will always be alive in the political history of our region and the world, whether the current US administration is happy or concerned,” said the President adding, "JCPOA is a multilateral agreement backed by the Security Council of the United Nations and is a memorial to global peace and security that announced the world that complicated international issues are resolvable with the negotiation table".

Stating that the Iranian nation proved within the framework of the JCPOA that it will not lie and always honors its commitments, President Rouhani continued, "Until the time the other lives up to its commitments, Iran will not violate the agreement but if the other side wants to violate the Iranian nation’s rights, Iran will definitely respond accordingly".

"You supported the JCPOA in the United States and today, you can contribute to the Iranian nation’s rights. The main lobby of the Iranian nation in the US is you educated and proud Iranians," he continued.

This remarks followed by his speaking to reporters upon arrival at JFK Airport, during which Rouhani said, “The goal of this visit is attending the Session of the United Nations General Assembly and deliver the Iranian nation’s voice to the world and describe the critical conditions of the region”.

“Today, we are witnessing tough conditions, especially in relation to the oppressed Muslims in Myanmar,” said Rouhani adding that he will have meetings with heads of state, elites, Muslim clerics, managers of the media in the USA and also Iranians residing in the US.

“In a meeting with heads of countries around the world visiting from Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa we will discuss development of cooperation between Tehran and these countries to serve the national interests of the Iranian nation,” the President continued.

“As the Supreme Leader said, our strategy is to have inclusive interaction with the world and this strategy can be easily operationalized in international communities,” Rouhani stressed.
