محمدجواد ظریف

Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has conferred with his Turkish, Malaysian, and Indonesian counterparts on the desperate plight of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.

In separate phone calls with Turkey’s Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Malaysia’s Sri Anifah Aman, and Indonesia’s Retno Marsudi‎, Zarif voiced Tehran’s deep concern over the grievous situation of Muslim people in Myanmar.

The Iranian top diplomat also called on Muslim states to pay more attention and take practical measures to end the unfair and inhumane violence against Rohingya Muslims.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is prepared to provide any kind of help and contribute to collective measures by international bodies and Islamic countries,” Zarif said during the phone conversations.
