Iran’s steel exports up 27%

Tehran (ISNA) – Iran exported over 5.5 million tons of steel in the last fiscal year (March 2016-17), registering a 27% growth compared to the year before, Iranian Steel Producers Association announced.

 “This figure is very important and we foresee the growth continues to accelerate. We can say the condition of steel is hopeful,” secretary of Iranian Steel Producers Association Rasoul Khalife said.

Pointing to the rate of steel growth in recent years, he added: “the average growth of steel industry was about 5.7 percent during previous years and we can forecast that the growth can be increased to 10 percent in this year”.
