Redesign contract for Iran’s Arak nuclear reactor signed

Tehran (ISNA) – The contract for redesigning Iran’s Arak heavy water nuclear reactor was signed in Vienna on Sunday with Iranian and Chinese companies in attendance.

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi had announced the completion of negotiations related to the redesigning of Arak nuclear reactor.

According to the final accord, Iran will be the employer and the owner of the project and China will be the coordinator between Tehran and 5+1 group.

“The detailed accord is about 200 pages which cover different aspects of the cooperation,” Salehi said.

China and the United States are joint heads of the working group on the Arak project and at the end, they should verify Iran’s designs.
