Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will leave Tehran Sunday for a three-nation tour to Turkmenistan, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan.

“An economic delegation comprising representatives of commercial, industrial and banking institutions will accompany Zarif on this tour,” Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi announced.

The visits take place at the invitation of foreign ministers of Turkmenistan, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan, he added, during this visit the officials discuss bilateral, international and regional issues.

The visits come on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of these countries independence.

“Iran has had good relations with these countries since their independence and expanding ties with the countries in Central Asia,” said Ghasemi.
