Production of video games in Iran jumps 35 percent

Tehran (ISNA) – Production of video games in Iran on the rise, growing 35 percent in past 11 months, chief executive officer of Iran Computer and Video Games Foundation announced.

“The activity of 2000 local game developers from 100 companies has made good capacities for Iran in this industry,” chief executive officer of Iran Computer and Video Games Foundation Hassan KarimiGhoddousi said.

The first Tehran Game Convention will be held April 29-30 under the auspices of the Iran Computer and Video Games Foundation.

“The aim of Tehran Game Convention is to create a bridge between key players of the industry in Iran and the Middle East and international game community, promoting the developers’ knowledge, share experiences and expanding the businesses,” the project manager of Tehran Game Convention MehrdadAshtiani said.

“Introducing the investment opportunities, paving the way for presentation of Iranian products to international market and making connections between game developers are among the positive points of this event,” he added.
