TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran’s permanent representative to the UN Gholam-Ali Khoshroo recited parts of letter of Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei to western youth in the UN.

“The aim of the letter is to present a genius viewpoint of Islamic World on fighting terrorism and it addresses youth,” Khoshroo said in the UN General Assembly session on culture of peace.

“Muslims are now passing hard days in western countries and would face discrimination and pressure because of being Muslim,” he added.

The Iranian UN envoy added that the real Islam and defective mentalities helping terrorism and have always been raising terrorism should be completely separated.

He also blamed western countries in making violence in Islamic states, and said, “Occupation and destabilization are some causes growing violence. Colonialism and mustiness are other roots of the violence.

He noted that some countries seeking Islamophobia have targeted Muslims, adding media such as Zionists’ lobbying are damaging the image of Muslims.
