TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran and Russia would sign S-300 missile system new agreement by next week, said a senior Iranian official.
Iranian and Russian experts teams have updated S-300 missile agreement which would be signed this week or next week, said Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan.
He said that Russians under the excuse of Resolution 1929 and certain political pressures chose to annul S-300 agreement, but the Russian president revived the deal in his new term in office.
The Iranian official noted that one series of the missile would be added to the previous agreement based on the new deal and all technological changes would be implemented in the new system, and an upgraded S-300 missile system would be delivered to Iran.
“We will go to Russia next week to sign the deal and there is no barrier hindering the agreement.”
Iran and Russia have started to implement the contract and are preparing the system which would be delivered to Iran shortly after signing the agreement, Dehghan said.
