Trial of assassins of commanders of Resistance mission of next Iraqi administration

Trial of assassins of commanders of Resistance mission of next Iraqi administration

Tehran (ISNA) - Spokesman of al-Nujabai called the investigation into the assassination of Martyrs Soleimani and al-Muhandis one of the main duties of the next Iraqi administration and warned the American occupiers that they would be targeted by Resistance groups in any clothes.

According to the website of the representative office of al-Nujaba in Iran, in an exclusive interview with ISNA, Nasr al-Shammari, the official spokesman of the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement, strongly criticized the weakness and passivity of the interim administration of Mustafa al-Kadhimi in the face of various challenges in Iraq and expressed hope that Shi’ah parties would elect an efficient and capable prime minister for the next administration.

Al-Shammari stressed that the case of the assassination of the martyrs Soleimani and al-Muhandis should be pursued through pressure on the next Iraqi administration to try all those involved in this great crime.

He considered the claim of the withdrawal of American combat troops from Iraqi territory and their change of mission to an advisory role as “unacceptable and against the will of the people and the resolution of the Iraqi parliament” and stated that the Resistance will target the occupying forces in any clothes.

The full text of this conversation is as follows:

How do you assess the process of cooperation between the governments in Iran and Iraq in pursuing the case of the assassination of the martyrs Soleimani and al-Muhandis and their companions? Given that a joint committee has been set up between the two countries in this regard.

The Iraqi government, in the shadow of the al-Kadhimi administration, suffers from weakness and the inability to make important decisions and surrenders to the will of the United States. For this reason, it is not possible to deal with such a delicate case. Because this administration is an interim administration, the case must be transferred to the next administration and pressure must be put on all those involved in this great crime to be tried.

How do you assess the current situation of the Islamic Resistance Front in the region? Given that some analysts believe that the martyrdom of General Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis dealt a severe blow to the Resistance movement, there is currently no charismatic figure like these two in the Resistance movement.

There is no doubt that the great martyrs, the wise general of Islam, General Haj Qasem Soleimani, and the great warrior Haj Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, are two personalities whose counterparts are fewer and more difficult to find, and those who come after them and carry their jihadi legacy will carry a heavy burden on their shoulders; In any case, the Islamic ummah, the school of thought of the Ahl al-Bayt, the method of the Commander of the Faithful [Imam Ali] and Imam al-Husayn is to nurture mankind, and this nurturing of mankind may not be interrupted. The Muslim ummah offered martyrs from the Infallibles, the maraja’ [sources of emulation], scholars and great personalities, but thanks to God Almighty and the Imam of the Era [Imam al-Mahdi], it continued its path and progressed. Without a doubt, this path will continue and this nation will be victorious.

What is the view of the al-Nujaba Movement on changing the mission of American forces from a combat mission to an advisory mission in Iraq? Is this how the Iraqi parliament passed the resolution? Or do you consider this to be contrary to the January 2020 resolution of the Iraqi parliament?

What happened is definitely a violation of the Iraqi parliament’s resolution to expel all foreign forces – not just Americans – from the country; And it is against the will of the millions of Iraqis who took part in mass demonstrations demanding the expulsion of foreign forces and demanding that they be found guilty because of the crimes they committed against the country and the people of Iraq, especially the heinous assassination of the martyred commanders.

In the Resistance, we consider these forces, whatever their name and mission, to be occupying forces with an illegal existence, and any false clothes they make for themselves will inevitably be targeted by the weapons of the Resistance. These forces have no choice but to leave Iraq forced and defeated, and the events of 2011 are a lesson for them.

What is the current position of the Resistance in Iraq? Why in the Iraqi parliamentary elections, the political groups close to the Resistance movement could not attract much participation by the people and win significant seats in this election?

The situation of Resistance groups in Iraq is not related to the results that political parties close to them will achieve in the elections. From 2003 to the end of 2011, these groups resisted and defeated the occupiers, resisted and defeated al-Qaeda, and fought and defeated Daesh from 2014 to the end of 2017. And all this time, they did not have a representative in parliament, or if there were, they were very few.

The reason for the election results is the nature of the Iraqi election law. If we pay attention to the total number of votes, we will find that the total number of votes of the parties close to the Resistance is higher than all other parties but the nature of the current election law, which ignores a large percentage of votes, has led to such results, in addition to a lack of experience in using this law.

For this reason, the Resistance groups still have all their power and the support of the society, and if they wish, they can employ thousands of fighters to confront the challenges. However, these groups [due to the volume of public reception] have so far not been able to recruit all the volunteers who visit their headquarters and media centres on a daily basis.

Given the Federal Supreme Court of Iraq’s ruling on the election and the reaction of the Resistance movements to the ruling, do you think the Shi’ah groups in parliament can agree to form a majority faction and agree on a single option for the presidency?

All the previous elections were accompanied by intimidation and the tabloid press promoted the Shi’ah-Shi’ah conflict and the fragmentation and confrontation of the parties, which is, in fact, a lie and an act of intimidation.

In the Shi’ah community of Iraq, many rules prevent this from happening. The most important of them are the religious and social norms and the marja’iyyah (religious authority) is the most important guarantor in such matters.

Therefore, I expect that an agreement will soon be reached in the form of the next administration and the election of a prime minister who is somewhat satisfactory to most of the Shi’ah parties because this issue has become a custom by the Shi’ah parties and these parties are responsible for electing the prime minister.

How does the al-Nujaba Movement evaluate the performance of Mustafa al-Kadhimi (the interim prime minister) and the type of interaction his administration has with the governments of Iran and the United States?

The era of the al-Kadhimi administration was a period that had a negative effect on the situation in Iraq in various fields. Government media and exhibitions that had nothing to do with reality, which led to the deterioration of the economic situation, the devaluation of the Iraqi currency against the dollar, the deterioration of electricity supply, the sharp rise in commodity prices, the deterioration of the security situation due to unexpected changes of security commanders, leaving the American embassy free to intervene in Iraq, the invasion of the north of the country by Turkish forces, and the cancellation or suspension of vital projects and contracts such as the Grand al-Faw Port project and the Silk Road Project, etc., and the conclusion forged contracts with semi-bankrupt governments.

All of these issues put Iraq in a critical situation. Perhaps the election of al-Kadhimi was an obstacle in the recent political history of Iraq because this man does not have the experience, ability and charisma to manage a small institution, let alone run a country with great and complex challenges.
