“A Hero” lands on Oscars’ International Feature Shortlist

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian film “A Hero” directed by Asghar Farhadi has been placed among 15 preliminary nominees of the International Feature Film category at the Oscars.

Films from 92 countries were eligible in the category. Academy members from all branches were invited to participate in the preliminary round of voting and must have met a minimum viewing requirement to be eligible to vote. 

In the nominations round, members from all branches are invited to opt in to participate and must view all 15 shortlisted films to vote.

Nominations voting begins on January 27, 2022, and concludes on February 1, 2022. They will be announced on February 8, 2022 with the ceremony held on March 27.

The 15 films include “Great Freedom” from Austria, “Playground” from Belgium, “Lunana: A Yak In The Classroom” from Bhutan, “Flee” from Denmark, “Compartment No. 6” from Finland, “I’m Your Man” from Germany, “Lamb” from Iceland, “A Hero” from Iran, “The Hand of God” from Italy, “Drive My Car” from Japan, “Hive” from Kosovo, “Prayers For The Stolen” from Mexico, “The Worst Person In The World” from Norway, “Plaza Catedral” from Panama and “The Good Boss” from Spain.
