Brutal massacre of Kunduz must be condemned: Iranian former President

Tehran (ISNA) – Stressing that the brutal massacre of Kunduz must be condemned, Iranian former President Hassan Rouhani said, Taliban must be held responsible for the security of the Afghan people.

In a reaction to the deadly terrorist attack on a mosque in Afghanistan’s Kunduz city on Friday, Rouhani wrote on his official Twitter account on Saturday, “The brutal massacre of Kunduz must be condemned. Terrorists who hide behind religious extremist slogans are not only committing crimes against human lives but also against the merciful nature of Islam”.

“Taliban must be held responsible for the security of the Afghan people,” he added.

According to some sources, the suicide bombing at the Shia mosque in Afghanistan’s northeastern city of Kunduz during Friday prayers killed more than 100 people and wounded 200 others.

The Islamic State in Khorasan Province, ISKP (ISIS-K) claimed responsibility for the attack through its Telegram channels on Friday.
