AEOI chief arrives in Moscow

Tehran (ISNA) - Vice President and head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami arrived in Moscow on Tuesday to meet with the head of Russia's Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev as well as some of Russian senior officials.

Mohammad Eslami was welcomed by Iranian ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali, Iranian Embassy’s staff and the senior officials of Rosatom at the airport.

During his visit to Moscow, the AEOI head will discuss the current state of affairs and the AEOI's cooperation with Rosatom.

Upon his arrival to Moscow, Eslami told reporters, “The US claim about the need for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to have access to the Karaj centrifuge parts plant is null and invalid”.

“Washington isn’t in a position to comment on how Iran and the IAEA work together. Unfortunately, the IAEA, under pressure from the US and the Zionist regime, has replaced technical cooperation with a political approach,” he added.

“The visit is taking place in the continuation of regular consultations between Tehran and Moscow aiming at developing and strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of peaceful nuclear energy,” Eslami stressed.
