Iran, Syria stress need for strengthening bilateral cooperation

Tehran (ISNA) – Syrian President Bashar al-Assad held a phone conversation with Iran’s president-elect Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi.

During the phone talks, Assad congratulated Raisi on his victory in Iran’s 13th presidential election.

The Syrian president wished further progress of the Islamic Republic of Iran during Raisi’s tenure, and continuation of Iran’s achievements in all possible fields.

President Assad and president-elect Raisi stressed the need for further strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields as well as continuous consultations on issues of mutual interest, and harmony between the two countries in that field.
