Iran to take revenge on Zionist regime for Natanz incident: Khatibzadeh

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh stressed that what happened in Natanz Enrichment Facility on Sunday can’t turn the country's nuclear industry backwards, because this knowledge has become an advanced indigenous knowledge inside the country, saying all centrifuges unplugged were old IR1 type and will be replaced by advanced machines.

Speaking on weekly press conference on Monday, Khatibzadeh announced, “Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov would pay a visit to Tehran later today and he will meet with Iranian officials including his counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif tomorrow.”

"According to the held talks, the 10-year comprehensive cooperation agreement between Iran and Russia, which has been recently expired, will be extended," he added.

“Serbia’s Foreign Minister would pay a visit to Tehran on Saturday as well,” Khatibzadeh went on to say.

Answering a question about the recent incident in Natanz nuclear facility and that the Zionist regime was responsible of the sabotage, Khatibzadeh noted, “Many sources link the sabotage operation to the Israeli regime which had frequently threatened to run such operations against Iran. Fortunately, the incident caused no casualties or contamination but it could have led to human catastrophe and therefore, it amounts to Crimes Against Humanity”.

“This is not going to impact Iran’s nuclear capability. All centrifuges unplugged were old IR1 type and will be replaced by advanced machines. Iran is not going to be trapped. The Israeli regime takes revenge on Iranian people for their patience and sage behavior. Iran would take revenge on Zionist regime in appropriate time” he added.

Regarding Vienna talks, the spokesman stated, “The ongoing talks in Vienna don’t constitute nuclear negotiation, but they are technical discussions to remove US sanctions on Iran”.

“Negotiations only revolve around removal of US sanctions” he added.

Regarding Iraqi National Security Adviser’s visit to Iran, Khatibzadeh said, “Iraqi National Security Adviser will meet Zarif today. During the meeting, various bilateral issues including issues related to security of borders between Iran and Iraq as well as the other issues will be discussed”.

“Iran-Iraq relations are a multi-layered, popular and strategic relationship, and therefore very good consultations between the two sides are underway on all sectors,” he added.
