Iran to hold first test of photon entanglement in Western Asia

Tehran (ISNA) - The head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) announced that Iranian officials held negotiations with Europeans over a various subjects including the quantum issue as part of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

At the first National Forum of quantum technology, the head of AEOI Ali Akbar Salehi hoped that Iran could soon send some of its experts to Europe to exchange knowledge and experience in the field of quantum.

"Our friends at the AEOI promised to carry out the first test of photons entanglement in the next few months which if successful, it will be the first in the Islamic world and Western Asia," Salehi said.

“The works have been made for the country's entry into the quantum sector, but the entry into the field requires the testes of entanglement of photons, ions and electrons,” he stressed.
