FUM’s success can be attributed to improved performances across the four main indicators underlying the methodology of teaching, research, international prospect and general facilities. More specifically the FUM scientific paper productions become more influential and it has been more successful at drawing in international talent.
“FUM University has one main campus set in 300 hectares of beautiful parkland. Based on green metric, FUM is ranked 238 worldwide and third in national rank,” FUM President Professor Mohammad Kafi said.
FUM currently offers 140 courses in 13 faculties and enjoys accompany of 850 full-time academic members with more than 23,000 students out of which 1450 students are international from 17 countries.
According to Professor Mohammad Kafi “there are many ranking systems in the world but based on Leiden ranking system, FUM is among 537 top universities and based on the Times ranking system we are around 800 worldwide.”
“FUM today, for example, places far more emphasis on the sciences than it has done historically, as seen in our expansion of the facilities at in international levels like central library, computer centers, transportation, consultation services, daycare centers and sports facilities, this university is the most well-equipped in all around the country,” he says
He continued: “since we are enjoying of the shrine of Imam Reza, all Shia Muslims would like to study in Mashhad and for the reason, there are numerous Iraqi students would like to pursue their education in FUM. At the moment we have 300 Iraqi students and More than 500 Afghan students.”
“Regarding the future prospects of FUM, our target is to be in 500 top universities in worldwide and aim to be among 10 top universities in Islamic countries.” He noted.
“We are trying to establish scientific collaboration between Iran, India, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Lebanon” He added, “now we are trying to establish collaboration between FUM and eight top Russian universities, although we cooperate with EU best universities like German and French universities mainly Sorbonne and University of Strasbourg.”
