TEHRAN (ISNA)- An Iranian top lawmaker said Slovakian nationals captured in Iran over espionage charges were taking photos of the country's military sites when arrested.
"Some Slovakian nationals were taking photos of our country's military sites by glider when arrested by security forces," said Chairman of Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi.
Slovakian Foreign Minister said on Saturday that some Slovakian nationals were arrested in Iran over espionage charges. The Slovak Foreign Ministry said it knew the case but refused to confirm any details or the number of detainees.
“We are aware of this case and I assure you that we are taking all necessary steps,” Slovak Foreign Ministry spokesman Boris Gandel said.
“There has been no decision on this so far,” Gandel said.
