Iran instructs monkey for space trip by "Explorer 5"

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iran plans to send Kavoshgar 5 (Explorer 5) with life capsule into space in July or August as it is instructing 5 monkeys for the space trip. The Head of the Iranian Space Agency (ISA) Hamid Fazeli said "Explorer 5" is to carry live creatures including Rhesus monkey to the altitude of 120 km below the orbit. One monkey out of five ones is to be sent to space by "Explorer 5". "Iran joined 8 space club member states which possess advanced technology for building and launching satellites in February 2007 as it sent locally-built Omid (Hope) satellite into space," he added. Also regarding the plan for launching the "Explorer 5" which carries the monkey, he said," five monkeys are under instruction to be able to tolerate physical pressures, orbital acceleration, sound, vibration and other factors at the time of launching." The experimental launch of "Explorer 5" has undergone some reforms. It enjoys gained momentum and uses liquid fuel. End Item
